Flag Status

In accordance with 4 USC § 7(m) and the attached directive from the White House, Governor Tate Reeves has ordered all flags of the United States and the State of Mississippi be flown at half-staff on all buildings and grounds of the State of Mississippi and all areas under its jurisdiction effective immediately and running through sunset on Friday, November 14, 2025  in honor of Vice President Dick Cheney.

In accordance with President Trump’s attached Proclamation, Governor Tate Reeves has ordered all flags of the United States and the State of Mississippi be flown at half-staff on all buildings and grounds of the State of Mississippi and all areas under its jurisdiction effective immediately and running through sunset on Sunday, September 14, 2025, in memory of Charlie Kirk.

In accordance with President Trump’s attached Proclamation, Governor Tate Reeves has ordered all flags of the United States and the State of Mississippi be flown at half-staff on all buildings and grounds of the State of Mississippi and all areas under its jurisdiction effective immediately and running through sunset on August 31, 2025 in honor of the victims of the tragic and senseless church and school shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Governor Reeves signed a proclamation directing all flags of the State of Mississippi be flown at half-staff on all buildings and grounds in Mississippi beginning at sunrise and ending at sunset on Thursday, January 9, 2025, in memory of Nikyra Dedeaux, and on Friday, January 17, 2025, in memory of Matthew Tenedorio. Both Jan. 9 and Jan. 17 will be days of mourning for the loss of these two Mississippians.

Governor Reeves orders all flags be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, August 13, to honor the passing of Officer Troy Floyd, a decorated law enforcement officer who lost his life in the line of duty on August 8, 2024, at the age of 52, while honorably and courageously protecting and serving his community.
