Governor Reeves orders all flags be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, August 13, to honor the passing of Officer Troy Floyd, a decorated law enforcement officer who lost his life in the line of duty on August 8, 2024, at the age of 52, while honorably and courageously protecting and serving his community.

Governor Reeves orders all flags be flown at half-staff for public buildings and grounds on Monday, September 11. The order directs the American flag and state flag to be flown at half-staff on all state buildings and grounds from sunrise to sunset on Monday, September 11, 2023. Additionally, it calls upon Mississippians to participate in a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time to honor the innocent victims who perished as a result of the terrorist attacks

Governor Reeves orders all flags be flown at half-staff on Saturday September 9, to honor the passing of Michael Elaine "Mike" Griffin, a decorated Marine and distinguished law enforcement officer who lost his life in the line of duty on September 4, 2023, at the age of 62. 

Governor Reeves orders all flags be flown at half-staff for public buildings and grounds until sunset Friday, March 31, in honor of the 21 Mississippians who tragically lost their lives due to the devastating tornadoes as well as the victims of the school shooting in Tennessee.

Governor Reeves orders all flags to be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, December 21 to honor the passing of Bay St Louis police officer Sergeant Stephen Michael Robin, a courageous law enforcement officer who was mortally wounded in the line of duty December 14, 2022 at the age of 34.

Governor Reeves orders all flags to be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, December 21 to honor the passing of Bay St Louis police officer Branden Paul Estorffe, a courageous law enforcement officer who was mortally wounded in the line of duty December 14, 2022 at the age of 23.

Governor Reeves orders all flags to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, December 20 to honor the life of Michael Charles "Mike" Leach who passed away on December 12 at the age of 61. 

Governor Reeves orders all flags to be flown at half-staff on Monday, November 7 to honor the life of Richard "Dick" Hall who passed away on November 2nd at the age of 84. 

Governor Reeves orders all flags to be flown at half-staff on Friday, September 11 as part of a solemn day of remembrance and tribute to honor the innocent victims who perished as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Governor Reeves orders all flags to be flown at half-staff on Thursday, July 30, 2020 to honor the life of Deputy Dylan Scott Pickle and mourn his passing, who was killed in the line of duty.

Governor Reeves orders all flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise until noon on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020, in honor of all our fallen service members.

Governor Reeves orders all flags to be flown at half-staff from May 22, 2020 until sunset on May 24, 2020 as a mark of solemn respect for the victims of the COVID-19 pandemic and to mourn the lives lost.

Governor Reeves orders all flags to be flown at half-staff on May 15, 2020 to memorialize fallen Peace Officers and recognize the sacrifice and bravery of our law enforcement officers for Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week.
