Gov. Tate Reeves joined U.S. Congressman Steven Palazzo, local officials, and industry representatives today at Port Bienville Industrial Park for a ribbon cutting ceremony at a new maritime dock and railroad facility.

At the request of the state of Florida, Governor Tate Reeves approved the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) request for assistance as Hurricane Ian is making its way north through the state of Florida. Approximately 20 Soldiers and Airmen of the Mississippi National Guard are deploying for emergency response missions in Florida.

Governor Tate Reeves today announced his appointments for Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, Executive Director of the Mississippi Public Utilities Staff, and District Attorney for the 17th Circuit Court District.

Governor Tate Reeves today announced the results of the Mobile Enforcement Team (MET) deployment that took place on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. This effort involved the surging of law enforcement personnel and resources into coastal communities.

Governor Tate Reeves today announced that the U.S. Department of the Treasury has issued grant awards for two Mississippi RESTORE projects. They will strengthen infrastructure benefitting the economy in the Gulf Coast Region. The projects were initially approved by Governor Reeves based on recommendations made to him by the Governor’s Gulf Coast Advisory Committee in continued response to recovery from the BP Oil Spill.

Governor Tate Reeves announced in a press conference that clean water had been restored to the City of Jackson. Thus, the boil water advisory for the City of Jackson and surrounding areas can now be lifted.

The U.S. Small Business Administration approved Governor Tate Reeves’ request for assistance for businesses affected by the Jackson Water Crisis. Many businesses within Hinds County, including the City of Jackson, have experienced economic losses due to total or near total loss of water pressure following the Pearl River flooding in late August 2022.

Governor Tate Reeves today requested a Small Business Administrative Declaration from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). This declaration request is for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans for Hinds County, which covers businesses only.
