Governor Tate Reeves today released the following statement on the Fifth Circuit’s recent ruling,

Governor Tate Reeves today announced that he has appointed Anne Hall Brashier as Chief of Staff effective immediately. Brashier has served as Interim Chief of Staff since June. She previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff of Policy and Legislative Affairs.

Governor Tate Reeves today announced that Mississippi reached a new record low in the state’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate. The state hit a historic low of 2.6% in November 2023, according to data from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security.

Governor Tate Reeves has appointed the Honorable James Kent McDaniel of Brandon to fill the vacancy in the Office of County Court Judge for Rankin County, Place 2, until such position is filled by special election. Additionally, Governor Reeves issued a writ of election declaring that a special election will be held on November 5, 2024, to fill the vacancy.

Governor Reeves today announced a series of new appointments at the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA). Governor Reeves appointed William “Bill” Cork as Executive Director/Chief Economic Development Officer, PJ Waldrop as Chief Operations Officer, and Steven McDevitt as Chief Investment Officer.

Governor Tate Reeves today announced that he has set two special elections for November 5, 2024, in order to fill the respective vacancies in the Office of Chancery Judge for the Twelfth Chancery District and the Office of County Court Judge for Hinds County, Subdistrict 2.

Governor Tate Reeves has been selected as Chairman of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Governors Coalition. Fellow Coalition governors elected Reeves to serve a two-year term. Reeves will replace Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.
