Executive Orders:
Executive Order No. 1474: suspends the expiration of all valid driver’s licenses, learner’s permits, intermediate licenses, firearm permits, security guard permits and ID cards set to expire between March 14, 2020 to June 30, 2020. Such licenses, permits, and ID cards shall instead expire on August 3, 2020.
Executive Order No. 1486: lays out strict social distancing guidelines for tattoo parlors to reopen safely, enables restaurants who do not serve alcohol to offer in-house dining 24 hours a day, allows dance studios to reopen, and lifts restrictions on parks’ hours of operation and fishing tournaments.
Executive Order No. 1507: establishes additional social distancing measures for the following thirteen counties identified as localized regions with spikes in cases within our state to limit transmission and protect public health: Claiborne, Desoto, Grenada, Harrison, Hinds, Jackson, Jefferson, Madison, Quitman, Rankin, Sunflower, Washington, and Wayne Counties.
Executive Order No. 1509: extends additional social distancing measures implemented to limit transmission in thirteen counties under Executive Order No. 1507 and adds the following ten counties: Bolivar, Covington, Forrest, Humphreys, Panola, Sharkey, Simpson, Tallahatchie, Tate, and Walthall Counties.
Executive Order No. 1517: directs school districts in the following counties with higher risk of community transmission and recent spikes in new cases to delay the start of the 2020-2021 academic year until Monday, August 17: Bolivar, Coahoma, Forrest, George, Hinds, Panola, Sunflower, and Washington Counties.
Executive Order No. 1525: replaces the Safe Return order and its amendments, combines all social distancing measures into one executive order to ensure understanding and keep people better informed, and eases some restrictions, such as increasing attendance at outdoor K-12 extracurricular events such as football games to 50% of seating capacity.
